Once called "Ft. Collins' most unique band," Hot Club Nouveau is a gypsy swing jazz quartet featuring James Anderson on violin, Scott Kruser on guitar, Phil Spencer on bass, and Brennan Howell on drums. Primarily performing music in the style of 1930's guitar revolutionary Django Reinhardt, HCN is unlike most gypsy swing bands by adding many "nouveau"
twists to the popular jazz style such as touches of funk, samba, blues and other musical colors. Formed in late 2005, Hot Club Nouveau has performed at most major venues in Ft Collins (such as Avogadro's Number, Road 34 Bar, and Stonehouse Grille), Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge in Denver, CO, has been featured on KRFC 88.9 FM's Live@Lunch, has been featured in Anchorage, Alaska, has co-headlined the Helena Jazz Jubilee Festival in Helena, Montana, and has appeared at the Le Quecumbar Brasserie gypsy jazz club in London, England.
